STRIKER CAD/CAM 2017 NEW & ENCHANCED FEATURES
Striker Systems is pleased introduce STRIKER CAD/CAM 2017. The following list highlights many of the new and enhanced features.
SS-PUNCH
Auto Tab (Micro-Joint) Placement during Auto Punching
– Automatic placement of tabs was added in a recent release of STRIKER CAD/CAM. This feature has now been taken a step further, allowing you to enable the placement of tabs during auto punching operations. This potentially eliminates one interaction from the programming process and further facilitates automation.
Place Tabs (Micro-Joints) on a Single Tool Hit
– You can now place a tab where only a single tool hit exists. The single tool hit location will be adjusted (where possible) to create the desired tab.
Automatic Tool Substitution during Tab (Micro-Joint) Placement
– If you need to place a tab where a single tool hit exists but that tool hit location cannot be shifted without violating the part, a smaller tool will automatically be substituted (where possible) to allow the tab creation.
Obround (Slotted) Notches More Intelligently Auto Punched
– During automatic punching, obround (slotted) notches are more intelligently processed. Auto punching logic will now consider matching obround tools first in the auto tooling logic.
Obround Tools Available for Shear Punching
– Obround tools can now be used for automatic and interactive shearing.
New Quick Repo Command for Single Pick Repositioning
– An additional reposition command, Quick Repo, has been added to the menu. This command executes the automatic reposition operation without opening the Auto Repo Settings dialog. Eliminates one screen pick when a reposition needs to be run without changing settings.
Descriptions Can Now Be Added to Tool Sequences
– The Tool Sequence dialog now allows descriptions to be added. This can be very advantageous in complex layouts with a large number of tool sequences, particularly when there are multiple angle sequences of a tools in auto-index stations.
Single Tool Sequence Can Be Split by AI Angle
– Previous versions of SS-PUNCH allowed you to create multiple tool sequences automatically (by angle) when the tool was loaded in an auto-index station. But there may be times when you don’t want all of your auto-index tools to be split into multiple tool sequences. SS-PUNCH 2017 allows you to select a single auto-index station to split that single tool into multiple angle sequences.
Multiple Delete Option for Tool Sequences
– When you need to completely remove multiple tool sequences, the Delete option in the Tool Sequence dialog now allows multiple sequence selection.
Tool-Path Optimization Improvement
– Reduce machine runtime! Automatic tool-path optimization is improved where numerous shear cycles are in close proximity to each other.
SS-PROFILE
Improved Common Edge Cutting
– SS-Profile now supports much easier common edge cutting of an X,Y grid of parts. Simply designate the desired rows and columns and apply the Common Edge Cutting command. Common edge cuts are automatically applied to the shared X and Y part edges.
SS-NEST
Fill Single Sheet
– Do you ever just need to fill a sheet with as many of a single part as will fit? Now you can! Just toggle “Fill Sheet” when adding a part to a nest kit. SS-NEST will nest as many of that part as will fit on the sheet. And when used in conjunction with the SS-NEST Sheet Selection feature, you can search your entire sheet inventory to determine which sheet size yields the optimum nest for that part.
Nest Wizard Dialog Now Displays Nest Information
– This is a big one! Information about each Nest Kit, SubJob, and Layout is displayed directly in the Nest Wizard Dialog. Remember the days of having to drill down into a nest report to determine selected sheet size or estimated machine runtime? No more! This information (and much more) is immediately accessible in the Nest Wizard dialog!
Active Kit Dialog Now Sizable
– The Active Kit dialog can now be stretched to the desired size and you can shift the size of the upper and lower panels. This makes it much easier to access parts and assemblies that are being added to the nest.
Active Kit Dialog Supports Drag & Drop
– Parts and assemblies can now be dragged and dropped from the upper panel to the lower panel to add them to the nest kit, or from the bottom panel to the top to remove them. This can save several screen picks when creating a nest kit.
Nest Wizard Dialog Allows Right Click in Preview Pane
– Previous versions of SS-Nest required you to highlight the specific Nest Kit, SubJob, or Layout from the tree control to access editing options through the right-click menu. You can now retrieve the right-click menu while hovering anywhere over the nest preview pane.
PARTshare
Expanded Field Lengths
– Many of the PARTshare fields have been expanded from 40 to 254 characters. This includes part number, description, and extended data fields.
Auto Part Labeling Control per Part
– The Auto Part Labeling of PARTshare has been around for a few releases and allows part numbers and additional part data to be automatically placed on parts for processing by SS-Profile and SS-Punch. In previous versions of PARTshare the automatic part labeling was all or nothing. The desired information was either placed on all parts or none of them. This can now be controlled per part allowing only desired parts to be automatically labeled.
Additional Data Fields
– Two additional part data fields have been added allowing you track even more information with each part. These data fields can filled in by the user or automatically populated through property mapping in SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Autodesk Inventor.
New Command for Adding Tooled Parts
– Adding a tooled instance of your part(s) to the PARTshare library just got easier. Historically the PARTshare interface had to be opened to access the “New” command to select tooled parts. A new “Add Tooled Parts” command is now available to select parts individually or window select multiple parts.
Export/Import Now Maintains Part History
– Parts that are exported from PARTshare now carry part history with them, so synchronizing PARTshare libraries with remote locations can be performed with no data loss.
Improved Database Audit & Integrity Utilities
– PARTshare database auditing has advanced to automatically improve database integrity.
